STURRIDGE RULED OUT

Daniel Sturridge has been confirmed to be injured from 2 to 4 weeks after picking up a calf injury. The English forward sustained the injury after playing for England in a 2016 Euro qualifying match against Switzerland.

Brendan Rodgers officially confirmed the injury of Daniel Sturridge after Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers which was played on October 19.

‘’He was returning from his thigh injury and medically everything was fine with that. Then, on his very first morning, he was jogging around the pitch in the warm-up – there was no action, no striking of a ball. He was jogging around the field and then in the actual warm-up, he felt his calf a little tight’’

‘’The scan shows that there is a little bit of damage in his calf. So the medical team told me it’s probably between two to four weeks, which is a huge disappointment for us. But we have enough players now’’ Brendan Rodgers said as he confirmed the injury of Daniel Sturridge.

This is a huge blow for Liverpool as the analysis of their game shows that they are in need of attacking players that can boost the goal-scoring record of the Premier League club which has managed to score 13 goals in the opening 8 matches of the season.

Brendan Rodgers is attempting to ignite the career of Mario Balotelli at Anfield as the Italian forward has not scored a league goal for Liverpool and now has to deal without having Daniel Sturridge at his disposal.

During the month of October and November, Liverpool has a busy series of matches lying ahead of them as the English club has matches to play in the Carling Cup, Champions League and the Premier League. Even with the injury of Daniel Sturridge, Rodgers said his club and squad of players should still be able to cope appropriately with his absence and has faith that Mario Balotelli will start scoring goals.
