Ronald Koeman is in no mood to sell Shane Long as he has confirmed

Ronald Koeman is in no mood to sell Shane Long as he has confirmed that the Ireland international would spend the rest of the season at St. Mary’s Stadium only.

Long has been in the sight of Liverpool right from the time the transfer window opened in January and they were even planning to bid for him, but, for some reason, they have not done it so far.

However, there is no doubt that there is a vacancy of a striker over there at Liverpool with Daniel Sturridge showing continuous fragility in terms of his fitness.

Whether Long or someone else, but, one thing is certain that the Reds are in a situation where they have to make a signing to give some power to the front line, otherwise, they will be in trouble.

As far as Long is concerned, the danger with him, if Liverpool indeed manages to seal his services, is that he is a sort of unpredictable Footballer and it’s very hard to expect consistency from him.

So, if he suits Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, it can’t be said with conviction.

However, for the time being, Koeman has seemed to have closed the topic completely as he has declared that there will be no more business done from Southampton’s side in the remaining couple of weeks in the transfer window.

When asked about Long and whether he would go, Koeman’s answer was a firm ‘no’.

The Saints boss was quoted as saying, “I would say the same thing again and again. You can ask me as many times as you want, but, you wouldn’t get a different answer.”

“Nobody is getting sold. I have already said that a number of times in the past couple of weeks.

“We made a signing and that’s that. No more business for the winter.”
