LIVERPOOL MOVE FOR INTER’S NICOLO BARELLA BECOMING EVEN MORE UNLIKELY
Italian football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has written in his column for Caught Offside that Liverpool’s long-term interest in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella is unlikely to materialise this summer. The Reds are yet to initiate talks with the Nerazzurri over a possible move for the 25-year-old Italian international; and a summer transfer can be ruled out.
There were claims that Liverpool could move for Barella in the ongoing transfer window, with the Serie A giants looking to offload some players to balance their books. However, Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that they are unlikely to make a summer move for the 25-year-old Italian international.
Moreover, Inter Milan see Barella as a future club captain, and he still has four years left on his contract with the Serie A club. The Italian international had signed an extension with Inter last season in November.
According to yh4 report Romano wrote on his Caught Offside column there’s been talk of long-term interest from Liverpool in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, but unfortunately it doesn’t go much further than that, Reds fans. He added that so far, there are no proposals or negotiations between Liverpool and Inter Milan. Barella extended his contract with Inter a few months ago and the club sees him as the captain of the future. I think it’s a more than difficult deal for this summer so we’ll see what happens in the future; for now Barella is only focused on Inter Milan.
Barella has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs as well, with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur monitoring his situation. But it looks like the 25-year-old is set to stay at San Siro this summer, with Liverpool or another club unlikely to launch the offensive for him.
