LIVERPOOL TARGET KERKEZ
Milos Kerkez is emerging as a prime target for Liverpool as they look to bolster their left-back options in the upcoming summer transfer window. With Andy Robertson turning 31 and his minutes mounting, the Reds are likely to pursue a new left-back, and the 21-year-old Hungarian fits the bill.
Since joining Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023, Kerkez has impressed in the Premier League, establishing himself as a regular in the side. His standout performances, including a remarkable assist against Tottenham Hotspur, have caught the attention of several top clubs, including Liverpool. The young full-back’s rise to prominence has been swift, and his performances for Hungary, where he is captain, have further raised his profile.
Despite the clear interest from Liverpool, their pursuit of Kerkez will not be straightforward. Manchester United has also been linked with the player for some time, with whispers suggesting that the left-back might be a boyhood supporter of the club. In a recent live YouTube stream, Kerkez even stated that he wouldn’t join Liverpool, which could throw a wrench in the Reds’ plans, though his stance may change if the opportunity presents itself.
Adding further complexity to the transfer battle is Real Madrid’s reported interest in the defender. According to TeamTALK, Kerkez is on Los Blancos’ radar, and they are prepared to make a move for him for $54m. Real Madrid’s left-back options, Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia, have not convinced the club long-term, meaning Kerkez could offer an upgrade.
However, Real Madrid’s primary target remains Theo Hernandez of AC Milan, a pursuit that could influence Kerkez’s potential move. If Hernandez is secured, Kerkez could be left on the table for Liverpool or United, though the competition for his signature is heating up.
As for now, Kerkez’s future remains uncertain, but with Liverpool, United, and Real Madrid all monitoring his progress, it is clear that his next move could be to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
