Manchester United vs. Liverpool
Sunday’s Premier League double header begins at Old Trafford as top of the table Manchester United host Liverpool, in a game that has seen no shortage of drama over the years.
The hosts go in to the game having drawn 2-2 with West Ham United in their FA Cup third round tie; winning the three Premier League games beforehand. United have lost just once in the league since September, and could go ten points clear of second place Manchester City, who visit Arsenal later in the day.
Nani and Anderson could return to the match day squad after recovering from hamstring injuries, though Wayne Rooney remains out. Top scorer Robin Van Persie is favourite to open the scoring with a variety of bookmakers offering a price of 4.5 (7/2), whilst Javier Hernandez is a 6.5 (11/2) shot.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s are odds to take all three points, with Bet Victor offering the best price of 1.95 (20/21). Liverpool are widely available at 4.33 (10/3) whilst you can back the draw at 3.8 (14/5).
The visitors are without Jose Enrique and Martin Kelly, so Andre Wisdom and Glen Johnson are expected to fill the full back positions, while Daniel Sturridge is set to make his first league appearance having scored seven minutes into his debut in the 2-1 FA Cup third round victory at Mansfield Town last time out. Sturrridge is the first of >a number of transfer rumours concerning Liverpool, and is liekly to be joined at the club by other attackers before the transfer window closes.
Luis Suarez is one goal behind Robin Van Persie in the chase for the Premier League Golden Boot, and is 7.5 (13/2) to get the first goal of the game whilst Steven Gerrard is best priced at 13.0 (12/1).
