Pellegrini ‘wants Suarez’
Manchester City are reportedly preparing an offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to the Sunday People.
They claim that incoming manager Manuel Pellegrini has asked for four new players, including the Reds forward, who scored thirty goals last season.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph claim that Real Madrid are considering tabling a bid for the Uruguayan international.
Valued at £40 million, Suarez would potentially be a cheaper option than Real’s other attacking target, Edinson Cavani of Napoli, who has a release clause of £52 million.
However, manager Brendan Rodgers has maintained that the 26 year old, who will miss the opening six games of next season through suspension, is not for sale.
Elsewhere, Reading’s Alex Pearce is expected to agree a deal with Liverpool when his contract with the Royals expires in the summer whilst fellow defender Danny Wilson has completed his permanent move to Scottish Premier League side Hearts.
The 21 year old was signed for Liverpool by Roy Hodgson in 2010 for £2 million from Rangers, but struggled to make an impression on the first team, starting just one game in the Premier League before being sent on loan to Blackpool and Bristol City before moving to Tynecastle in January.
