Davies: “Williams worth £10m”
Swansea City defender Ben Davies has claimed that teammate Ashley Williams is worth £10million, amid reports that he is a transfer target for Liverpool, the Mirror reports.
Wales international Williams, who captains both his club and country, has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium following an impressive season which saw the Welsh side clinch the League Cup, as well as securing their best league finish in over thirty years.
The 28 year old, who extended his contract until 2015 last October, has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Wigan Athletic are interested in signing Reds midfielder Jay Spearing, according to the Daily Mail.
The 24 year old was recently named Player of the Season at Bolton Wanderers, where he spent the majority of the last campaign.
The Latics are also said to be close to agreeing a deal for former Reds goalkeeper Scott Carson.
Elswhere, Monaco look set to beat Liverpool to the signing of left-back Lucas Digne.
The 19 year old racked up 40 appearances for Ligue 1 side Lyon last season, drawing interest from a host of European heavyweights, though billionaire-backed Monaco are set to win the race for the France under 20 international.
