Cissokho set for Reds debut
Liverpool will be looking to secure back to back victories in the Premier League with victory over Aston Villa in Saturday’s late kick-off.
The Reds could hand a debut to defender Aly Cissokho, who completed his loan move from Valencia earlier this week, though Sebastian Coates has been ruled out for the majority of the season, and Luis Suarez continues his suspension.
Meanwhile, the club are bracing themselves for a bid from Real Madrid for Suarez, the Mirror understands.
Arsenal are keen on signing France international Karim Benzema which, if they are successful, would leave the Spanish giants desperately short in terms of an out-and-out striker.
However, Brendan Rodgers is insistent that the Uruguay international will not be sold, not least because there would be little time for the club to reinvest the money.
Elsewhere Willian, who was recently a target for Liverpool looks to be on the verge of securing a move to Chelsea.
The Brazil international had flown to London to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur, but the Blues had made a late move to hijack the deal.
Finally, Paris Saint Germain defender Mamadou Sakho has told his club that he is keen on securing a move to Anfield.
