Suarez will cost £55m in January
Real Madrid are set to make a £45m offer for Luis Suarez when the transfer window reopens in January, the Mail Online understands.
The striker made no secret of his desire to play for the Spanish giants during a summer that was dominated by talk of his future.
Only Arsenal made official approaches for the Uruguay international, and both of their bids were rejected out of hand by the Reds, who will demand £55m for their star player in the winter window.
The 26 year old returned to Premier League action last weekend, scoring twice in a 3-1 win at bottom of the table Sunderland, and the club are unlikely to be keen to sell if he continues such form.
Meanwhile, Napoli have confirmed that Pepe Reina will return to Liverpool at the end of the season, according to the Express.
The Spain international was reunited with former manager Rafa Benitez during the summer, after securing a move to the Serie A side, where he has settle well with three clean sheets in seven league games.
However, the Italian clubs sporting director Riccardo Bigon has revealed that the 31 year old’s stay at the club will not be extended beyond the current campaign.
