Jordan Henderson is set to move into a defensive midfield role, while Raheem Sterling is hoping to earn a recall to the starting line-up.
Luis Suarez is set make his first Anfield appearance since the 2-2 draw with Chelsea back in April – the game which involved the incident that led to him being handed a ten match suspension.
Philippe Coutinho is still some way from recovery, while Aly Cissokho, Glen Johnson and Joe Allen all miss out, but should be available after the international break.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia has told Four Four Two magazine that it ‘would be a dream’ to one day manage the club.
