Lucas out of Palace clash

Lucas Leiva will miss tomorrow’s visit of Crystal Palace, as the midfielder serves a one match ban after picking up five yellow cards.

Jordan Henderson is set to move into a defensive midfield role, while Raheem Sterling is hoping to earn a recall to the starting line-up.

Luis Suarez is set make his first Anfield appearance since the 2-2 draw with Chelsea back in April – the game which involved the incident that led to him being handed a ten match suspension.

Philippe Coutinho is still some way from recovery, while Aly Cissokho, Glen Johnson and Joe Allen all miss out, but should be available after the international break.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia has told Four Four Two magazine that it ‘would be a dream’ to one day manage the club.

The Finn, who won two FA Cups, two League Cups, the Champions League, UEFA Cup and two Super Cups during a ten year stint on Merseyside, is currently managing Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, who he currently has in third position in the league.

The 39 year old has said that he has “two special places in his heart”, one being the Finland national managers job, and the Anfield hot-seat.
