Liverpool in for Cabaye
Liverpool are set to join Arsenal in the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye, the Express understands.
The France international was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates during the summer, but remained at St James’ Park to a mixed reaction from Magpies’ fans.
Alan Pardew is keen to keep hold of the France international , who moved to the North East in the summer of 2011.
Roma, currently managed by Cabaye’s former manager at Lille Rudi Garcia are also said to be monitoring the situation while Paris Saint Germain are said to have turned their attention to other targets.
Meanwhile, Napoli are considering making a move for Daniel Agger, according to TalkSport.
The Liverpool vice-captain has been linked with moves to a number of clubs including Barcelona and Manchester City over the past eighteen months, but has always stressed a desire to remain on Merseyside.
However, he hasn’t appeared for the club recently despite recovering from injury and could well re-evaluate his situation should he not win back his place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI.
Napoli have also been linked with a move for fellow Reds defender Martin Skrtel in recent months, following their appointment of former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
