Liverpool eyeing Aogo transfer
Liverpool are lining up a bid for Germany left-back Dennis Aogo, according to the Express.
The Reds have been alerted to the news that the Hamburg defender, who has won twelve caps under Joachim Low could be available for as little at £2.5m.
The 26 year old is currently on loan with Schalke from Hamburg, and has made fourteen appearances this season, including the recent Champions League double header with Chelsea.
Brendan Rodgers has Jose Enrique and Aly Cissokho as his main options at left-back this season, though the latter is due to return to Valencia when his loan spell at Anfield ends in the summer.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen are keen to ward of Liverpool’s interest in midfielder Sidney Sam by offering him a new contract with the club, TalkSport understands.
The Germany international has recently been monitored by Rodgers, who is reportedly looking to bolster his attacking options when the transfer window reopens in January.
This season, Sam has scored seven goals in twelve Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen who are currently managed by Reds legend Sami Hypyia.
They are currently third in the division, joint on points with Borussia Dortmund and four behind leaders and reigning champions Bayern Munich.
