Hyppia dreams of “special” return
Ex-Liverpool defender Sami Hyppia has revealed that is would be “special” to return to Anfield one day as manager, the Mirror understands.
The Finn enjoyed a successful ten year spell on Merseyside, winning a host of honours including the 2005 Champions League triumph in Istanbul.
His Bayer Leverkusen side take on Manchester United in Europe’s top competition this evening, and whilst he is happy at the Bundesliga club, he has admitted that his dream job would be to manager the Reds.
Elsewhere, Jon Flanagan’s performance in the Merseyside derby at the weekend would have helped win the confidence of manager Brendan Rodgers, according to Jamie Carragher in the Mirror.
The England U21 international came in for the injured Jose Enrique to make just his fourth appearance under Rodgers, and Carragher reckons there is a lot more to come.
Meanwhile, Olympiakos coach Jose Miguel Michel has admitted that the Greek club will have difficulty in keeping hold of star striker Konstantis Mitroglou, according to the Express.
The Greece international, who is reportedly a target for the Reds and Arsenal, has been in blistering form so far this season, firing in fourteen goals in just ten league appearances, and a further three in four European outings.
