Agger and Johnson available for Fulham clash
Liverpool will be hoping to build on their magnificent 5-1 mauling of Arsenal at the weekend by taking another three points against bottom-of-the-table Fulham.
Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson are both back in training and could feature, though fellow defenders Mamadou Sakho and Jose Enrique and midfielder Lucas remain side-lined.
Three points for Brendan Rodgers’ side will see them further strengthen their hold on fourth place, and move them to within just four points of league leaders Chelsea, who were held to a 1-1 draw by West Bromwich Albion yesterday evening.
Rene Meulensteen’s men grabbed a stoppage time equaliser against Manchester United to move to within four points of safety, though they have been soundly beaten in their last three games against Liverpool.
Last season’s corresponding fixture was won 3-1 by the Reds with Daniel Sturridge grabbing all three of the visitors’ goals, while both of the last two meetings on Merseyside ending in 4-0 home victories.
Third place Manchester City host Sunderland this evening, while Arsenal in second entertain champions Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur, who currently sit just three points behind Liverpool, travel to Newcastle United with sixth place Everton welcoming Crystal Palace to Goodison Park.
