Agger denies exit claims
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has taken to Twitter to deny claims that he is set to leave Anfield.
The 28 year old has been an unused substitute in the Reds’ last two league games, but insists that he will be back in Brendan Rodgers side soon.
Barcelona were linked with a move for the Denmark international during the summer as they looked to strengthen their back-line, and rumours of a switch to La Liga have continued as he has appeared to fall down the pecking order on Merseyside.
However, the former Brondby man has said that he is ‘not going anywhere’, and will focus his attentions on winning back his spot in the heart of the club’s defence.
Meanwhile, Fabio Borini has insisted that he has not given up on his Liverpool career, the Guardian understands.
The Italy international, who is on loan with Sunderland, scored his first goal of the season in spectacular fashion as the Black Cats beat local rivals Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
That strike equalled the 22 year old’s league tally for Liverpool, for whom he made thirteen appearances last season, though he did spend much of the campaign on the side-lines.
