Alisson Becker speaks on his best moment of the Champions League campaign
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has indicated that the Champions League save against Napoli at Anfield remain the best moment of his campaign. The Reds had a tough ride in the Champions League group stage with defeats at Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, and Red Star Belgrade and they still progressed after holding the perfect record at home.
He told the club’s official website: “Without a doubt, the save against Napoli was pretty much the last touch of the ball and that save could be counted as a goal, I say. But of course, my teammates played their part as well and that’s what makes it so special, to be part of that group and to be able to help them. They are such incredible players.”
Alisson’s arrival at Liverpool has brought a sense of calm between the sticks and that confidence has gone into the defence, which has been highly impressive of the course of the campaign. The Reds are scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur during the Champions League final next month and the clash offers them with the chance to end a seven-year wait for a trophy.
Nonetheless, they cannot remain complacent over the task at hand and they are sure to face stiff competition from Spurs, who knocked out favourites Manchester City at the quarter-final stage. Spurs have struggled to keep regular clean sheets over the past few months, but they have shown their quality upfront with Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son among those stepping up to the plate. The duo could be joined by Harry Kane, who is expected to recover from the knee problem.
