Aspas cancels holiday in a bid to wrap up Anfield move
Iago Aspas’ switch to Liverpool is on the verge of completion after the Spaniard cancelled his holiday in attempt to see the deal through.
The Celta Vigo forward scored 12 La Liga goals during the last campaign, helping his side to survival on the final day of the season.
The 25 year old told Spanish newspaper Marca that, despite interest from within other countries his “future was in English football”, citing Liverpool as “one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Meanwhile, the Reds are on high alert after Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld admitted that he is keen on a move to the Premier League.
The Belgium international told De Telegraf that England or Germany is likely to be his next destination, though the 24 year old has also been linked with lucrative moves to clubs in both Russia and Portugal.
Elsewhere, the club are reportedly closing in on a deal for Sevilla winger Luis Alberto, according to various reports.
The 20 year old has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past, but now looks set to finalise a move to the Premier League.
Alberto spent last season on loan at Barcelona B, scoring eleven times in thirty-seven Segunda division appearances.
