Coutinho back for Arsenal trip
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Philippe Coutinho will be fit for Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal this weekend.
The Brazil international has been out of action for the past six weeks with a shoulder, but will return for the match at the Emirates, where three points will see the Reds move ahead of Arsene Wenger’s men.
Meanwhile, Valencia have been linked with a surprise move for Iago Aspas, according to the Daily Star.
The forward has made just four league starts for the club since signing from Celta Vigo in the summer and is yet to score.
It is thought that the La Liga side will bid for the Spaniard if they fail in their attempts to sign their first choice – Chelsea’s Demba Ba.
Elsewhere, the club have been told that they will need to pay £12m for Derby County midfielder Will Hughes, the Express understands.
The highly rated 18 year old, who is also a reported target of Arsenal and Manchester United, has already made over fifty league appearances, and has been capped four times for England U21’s.
Finally, former Reds keeper Ray Clemence has announced that he is to retire.
The 65 year old, who, amongst a host of other honours won five league titles and three European Cups with the Reds, has spent the last 17 years working with the Football Association.
