DALGLISH UNDER PRESSURE
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has become the latest manager in the Premier league to come under intense pressure after his team lost 3-1 to struggling Bolton Wanderers.
Liverpool are coming into the match with a real opportunity to get ahead of Arsenal in the Premier league table because of the fact that Arsenal are up against Manchester United.
This was a match in which either Manchester United or Arsenal could drop points, which would have been a real opportunity for Liverpool to close the gap. Liverpool spent a lot of money in the summer, but it seems that it has not paid off a little bit.
The team has certainly not improved in terms of the position in the table from the days of Roy Hodgson. Liverpool have also been faced with a number of problems recently including the racial accusations surrounding Luis Suarez and also the poor form of Andy Carroll.
However, the blame has also been on manager Kenny Dalglish because of his in different tactics and team selection in the recent match against Stoke city. Liverpool now face an uphill task to get back into the Champions League, which was one of the season objectives at the start of the season for Liverpool owner John Henry.
“I was annoyed and disappointed, more so about the attitude, the commitment and the approach to the game — that wasn’t us. All season we’ve been very complimentary about the way the boys have gone about their work but I don’t think you could say that on Saturday,” Kenny Dalglish said after the match against Bolton Wanderers.
He also said that he wants an immediate response from the players after this embarrassing defeat. This is the first time Bolton Wanderers have been able to beat Liverpool since October 2006.
