Dejan Lovren Thanks Jurgen Klopp for Revival in Form
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has thanked manager Jurgen Klopp for the impressive start he has been to the season.
The former Southampton defender looked out of sorts in his first season at Anfield. This led to rumours that a swift departure was on the cards. However, he has been able to find a manager who trusts in him a lot. Following the departure of Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren has been the default first choice player at the centre of the defence. He has featured in nine league games and managed to score one goal – in the 4-2 win against Crystal Palace.
It is a tremendous improvement from the Croatian, and he says that Klopp is a major factor. In the past, defending has been a major problem for Liverpool as they have never struggled to score goals in recent memory. Buoyed by the presence of players like Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, and, more recently, Philippe Coutinho, the team has been great going forward.
At the back, Klopp continues to admit that the team is not at its best, but they have been able to go without a defeat since the loss against Burnley earlier in the campaign. Lovren now claims that he is playing at his best just like he was at Southampton.
“When I started to play with Jurgen Klopp I think people were then able to see the difference between the first and the second season here for me.He just believes in us and I think that has helped me to get back to the form I showed at Southampton or during the couple of years before that in France.I would say he works 24 hours a day on everything at the club.He knows everything that is happening, and he wants us to give that same 100 per cent on the pitch,” said Lovren.
