Enrique: Clean sheet a must
Jose Enrique has said that not conceding will be the key if Liverpool are to progress to the last sixteen of the Europa League.
The Reds must overcome a two goal deficit in Thursday’s return leg against Zenit St Petersburg at Anfield if they are to make the next round, and Enrique, who was one five goal scorers in Sunday’s demolition of Swansea City, believes that keeping a clean sheet is a must.
Brendon Rodgers men have scored at least two goals in eight of their last eleven games, though they will have to make do without Philippe Coutihno and Daniel Sturridge, who are both cup tied, while Fabio Borini is out for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, the Italian striker, who dislocated his shoulder in a challenge with Kyle Bartley in Sunday’s game, has been linked with a return to his native country after Fiorentina declared their interest in the 21 year old.
Borini has made just sixteen appearances for the Reds since signing from Roma in the summer.
Elsewhere, the club have been linked with a move for Lyon centre-back Dejan Lovren by Croatian newspaper Sporstske Novosti, following the announcement of Jamie Carragher’s forthcoming retirement as well as constant speculation on the future of Martin Skrtel.
