Gerrard to sign new deal
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to sign a new contract at Anfield, the Mail Online understands.
The 33 year old, who’s current deal expires this summer, is set to sign up until 2015 following positive talks with the club.
This is the first time that Gerrard has ever entered the final year of his contract since making his debut fifteen years ago.
He will play in his testimonial against Olympiakos on August 3rd.
Meanwhile, the Reds have agreed a deal to sign highly rated Spanish youngster Pedro Chirivella from Valenica, the Mirror understands.
The La Liga side are demanding £3.5m for the 17 year old, though Liverpool have offered just £2m, meaning the fee could be decided by a tribunal.
Elsewhere, Ajax midfielder Christain Eriksen has said that he has not heard anything about a potential transfer amid reported interest from Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.
