Jordan Henderson confirm Squad faith on Swansea Man
Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has dismissed any concerns that the squad does not have faith in Brendan Rodgers because he feels that the former Swansea man is the right person to lead the club.
Rodgers has come under heavy firing for the poor first-half to the season. Liverpool find themselves in the eighth place after 19 games, which is a far cry from the top three places that they occupied at this stage last season. Despite this poor start, the possibility of finishing with a Champions League spot at the end of the campaign still remains for the club.
Liverpool are only eight points behind Manchester United in the third placed and Henderson reckons that if the club puts together a run of matches like they did last season, they can get into the top for once again. Liverpool went on a 16 match unbeaten run at the start of 2014 to go within a point of winning the Premier League title. After having dropped only two points in the last three matches, Henderson feels that Liverpool are on the cusp of rediscovering their form. Further, they are also set to welcome Daniel Sturridge back to the team in the coming few weeks. The England international has missed much of the first half due to persistent injury troubles.
“The manager has been fantastic ever since he came to the club. He’s working really hard for us on the training field to ensure that tactically we are better and improving all the time. It’s up to us as players to ensure we put that into practice on the pitch and we definitely did that against Swansea. We got our just rewards for that. It’s been hard on everyone. We’ve gone from winning every week to not winning as often,” said Henderson.
