Jurgen Klopp Wants Excellent Work Rate from Liverpool To Win against Burnley
Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool will need to maintain their work rate in order to have any chance of getting something from the game against Burnley this weekend.
Liverpool suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against Burnley earlier in the season. It is one of the several points dropped for Jurgen Klopp’s men in games against lower ranked opposition. Even though they have been unbeaten against the top six including a win against Arsenal during the weekend, Liverpool have certainly suffered a lot when it comes to the games against underdogs. As a result,Klopp has issued a word of caution ahead of the game with Burnley.
Liverpool go into the game in the top three places after the win over Arsenal. Even though the club has managed only two wins in 2017, Liverpool will be reasonably confident about a top four finish as a result of this victory. The victory over Arsenal lifted the club two points above the gunners and back into the top four.
Some of the recent poor results for Liverpool have come against the likes of Leicester City and Hull City. Even though they are at home for the game against Burnley, memories about the shock 3-2 loss against Swansea will also be recalled.
Klopp received a lot of plaudits for the first half of the season but he is having to work extremely hard in order to revive Liverpool’s form. “The whole week [coming] is different. When the week starts after Leicester everybody was angry, then we produce this performance against Arsenal. But then the question is immediately about Burnley and it starts already: ‘Oh, how can we do this?’ The legs feel already very heavy for the next game. My job is to produce the right mood, and I feel especially responsible after not so good performances, [so] we work on it,” said Klopp.
