Juventus again in for Suarez
Juventus have once again shown their interested in signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
The Serie A champions, who initially made an approach for the Uruguayan international last summer, are reportedly in discussions over a £26 million transfer, having been knocked back previously.
The Premier League’s top scorer signed a new contract with the Reds in August, which runs to 2018.
Meanwhile, Liverpool appear to have joined the race to sign Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.
The Daily Mail have reported that the club have been scouting the Kenyan international, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United having been one of the stand out performers in the Scottish champions European campaign.
The 21 year old, who could also provide cover in defence, is thought to be valued at around £10 million.
Elsewhere, Jamie Carragher has stated in his Daily Mail column that he tried to persuade Michael Owen to stay at Anfield, rather than sign for Real Madrid back in 2004.
The former Liverpool striker yesterday announced that he will retire at the end of the season, having struggled with injury throughout his career.
Carragher also revealed that he advised then Reds boss Rafael Benitez to sign Owen in 2009 once his contract with Newcastle United had expired, though the former England man went on to agree a deal with rivals Manchester United.
