Reds reject Arsenal approach for Suarez
Arsenal will have to increase their offer of £30million if they are to have any hope of signing Luis Suarez, the Independent understands.
The Uruguayan has been linked with a move away from Anfield since the end of last season, with Real Madrid appearing to be the player’s most likely destination after the summer transfer window.
However, interest from two of the Reds Premier League rivals has surfaced in the past few days with both Chelsea and Arsenal said to be keen; the latter of whom reportedly making an offer which has been dismissed out of hand.
Meanwhile, the club are set to miss out on securing the services of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Daily Mail.
The Armenian international has reportedly informed Anfield officials that he has instead decided to sign for Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
The Express claims that the Reds will now turn their attention to Verona under-21 starlet Jorginho.
Elsewhere, Jay Spearing looks to be closing in on a move to Blackburn Rovers, as the Championship club look to fill the gap left by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy.
The 24 year old spent the majority of last season with Rovers’ local rivals Bolton Wanderers, scoring twice in thirty-seven league appearances.
