Liverpool set up Arsenal clash after beating Bournemouth
Liverpool will face Premier League leaders Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Bournemouth 2-0 at the Goldsands Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Goals either side of half time from Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge were enough to secure victory for Brendan Rodgers’ men, who will now travel to the Emirates on either the 15th or 16th of February – the weekend after the Gunners make that trip to Anfield in the league.
Meanwhile, the club are keen to secure a permanent deal for Victor Moses, according to the Metro.
The winger’s goal yesterday was only his second for the Reds in sixteen appearances in all competitions, though Rodgers has stated that he could remain at Anfield provided he impresses in training.
He is unlikely to feature again for parent club Chelsea, not least due to their addition of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, who opted for a move to West London over Merseyside at the weekend.
Elsewhere, Napoli have again been linked with a move for Daniel Agger, this time in a potential swap deal involving Gokhan Inler, the Mirror understands.
Swiss international Inler is a centre midfielder, and could be used as a replacement for Lucas, who has been ruled out for two months with a knee injury.
