Liverpool sign Toure
Liverpool have completed the signing of Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure from Manchester City.
The 32 year old will move to Anfield on a free transfer on July 1st, when his contract expires.
Toure made over 100 appearances for City, and was part of the 2011/12 championship winning side, though he made just 10 starts in the league last season.
The centre back, who also won the Premier League with Arsenal, joins Liverpool following the retirement of Jamie Carragher, and with questions marks over the future of fellow defenders Martin Skrtel and Sebastian Coates.
Meanwhile, the Express have reported that the club will battle with Arsenal for the signing of Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
The 22 year old, who has been likened to former Gunner Samir Nasri, is thought to be valued at around £8 million, though French newspaper L’Equipe have reported that the Reds will bid almost £13 million in an attempt to hijack a potential approach from Arsenal.
Grenier scored his seventh league goal of the campaign in his sides 2-0 win over Rennes in the final Ligue 1 game of the season at the weekend.
Finally, the club have announced a friendly with Norwegian side Valerenga in Oslo on August 7th.
