LIVERPOOL SLIP UP

Liverpool’s journey to secure the Premier League title of this season has been met with some surprising obstacles and setbacks as the squad of Brendan Rodgers could not defeat Aston Villa and West Ham United during the clubs’ latest league matches.

The overall team of Brendan Rodgers has surely been upgraded compared to last season as the manager sold Luis Suarez and signed a number of reinforcements for different areas of the squad. There still is an issue that continues frustrating Liverpool and it’s trying to find the appropriate player that could replace the Uruguayan forward.

Mario Balotelli made a big splash when arriving to Anfield but the Italian still has not performed at the level that fans were expecting and Liverpool are mostly depending on the 19 years old player from Jamaica, Raheem Sterling for their goals as the youngster is so far the top goal-scorer for Brendan Rodgers having scored 3 goals in the 5 opening matches of the season.

This is a good start for Raheem Sterling as he has already shown flashes of brilliance and has the potential of turning into one of the best players in the world but it may take time for him to properly develop his abilities. Liverpool are 10/1 with bet365 precisely because of Sterling and Balotelli’s shooting prowess.

Despite not being able to find a true successor to the goal-scoring machine that Luis Suarez in last season and facing surprising defeats, Brendan Rodgers remains confident about what his squad can offer and what they will do in this new season of the Premier League.

“Of course, you’re not all smiles because when you lose games, it’s not a feeling we’ve been used to a lot, especially in the last season or so. But you have to refocus and you have to move on. That’s the nature of this level at the top end. Us as coaches and managers, we analyze the performance, and it’s my job to ensure the confidence is retained within the group. It hasn’t been a great start by any means, but I have worked with the team enough and I know the players and how they do respond. That honesty in the group and how hard they want to work, it gives me great hope’’ Rodgers said as he told reporters that despite their early and surprising losses in the Premier League, the Irish coach remains confident about his squad.
