Liverpool still short of defenders for Arsenal clash
Liverpool remain without a number of first team defenders for tomorrow afternoon’s visit of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Mamadou Sakho, Jose Enrique, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are all side-lined, though the latter two are set to return to full training next week.
Brazilian midfielder Lucas is also absent with a knee injury that is set to keep him out for another four weeks.
Three points for Brendan Rodgers’ men will see them close the gap between them and the Gunners to just five points ahead of Wednesday evening’s trip to bottom of the table Fulham.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are lining up a big money move for Luis Suarez when the transfer window reopens, the Metro understands.
The Uruguay international signed a new contract earlier in the season having been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer, though it is believed that an exit could be on the cards for the twenty-seven year old should the Reds miss out on qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Suarez has twenty-three goals in just nineteen league appearances so far this season, eight more than his closest rival in the division – Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
