LIVERPOOL TO START SEASON AT NORWICH
Merseyside giants will start the new Premier League campaign at newly promoted club Norwich City after the fixtures for the 2021/22 Premier League season were released on Wednesday.
The new Premier League campaign gets underway on the weekend of Saturday, August 14.
Liverpool won the Premier League title for the first time in their history during the penultimate season as they dethroned back-to-back champions Manchester City to achieve the feat before Manchester City returned the favour last season. The Reds would be hoping to usurp Manchester City again at the top of the Premier League when hostilities start for the new season in August.
In the new Premier League fixtures released, Liverpool have to navigate just one top-six fixture in their first six outings and that’s the home clash with London club Chelsea in week three starting on the weekend of Saturday, August 28.
Liverpool will play their first game at home in the Premier League against Burnley on the weekend starting on Saturday, August 21. Burnley were responsible for ending the Reds’ long unbeaten home run last season. Before the 1-0 loss at home to Burnley, Liverpool had gone unbeaten in the Premier League for more than four seasons.
The Burnley game at home precedes the home clash with Chelsea before games against Leeds United (away), Crystal Palace (home) and newly promoted club Brentford (away).
Liverpool fans would hoping for a fast start for their team in those games.
