Lucas back for West Brom clash
Lucas Leiva is set to return to the Liverpool line-up for tomorrow’s clash with West Bromwich Albion after missing last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United to attend the birth of his daughter.
Jose Enrique is likely to miss out as he struggles to shake off a knee injury, while the game also comes too soon for Philippe Coutinho, who could return for next weekend’s top of the table clash with Arsenal.
The Reds can reclaim top spot if they beat the Baggies and Arsenal drop points against Crystal Palace tomorrow lunchtime, while second place Chelsea host fourth place Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the club are considering a move for Manchester City striker John Guidetti, the Metro understands.
The one-time Sweden international has also made just one appearance for City since moving to the club in 2008, getting most of his playing time at loan spells with Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna, Burnley and Feyenord.
The 21 year old bagged an impressive 20 goals in 23 Eredivise appearances with the latter during the 2011/12 campaign, but has not made a club appearance since having been battling with injuries and illness over the past eighteen months.
