Madrid to offer Benzema plus cash for Suarez
Real Madrid are ready to test Liverpool’s resolve by offering £20million and Karim Benzema for Luis Suarez, according to the Daily Star.
The Uruguay international still reportedly wants out of Anfied, despite hitting the ground running since returning from his tem match suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic back in April.
He has scored six goals in just four Premier League appearances this season, including a superb hat-trick in the 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.
Real value Benzema at around £20m, making the package worth around £40m, though they may also sell the France international elsewhere in order to raise funds for a cash only bid for the former Ajax man.
Meanwhile, Suarez has made the shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The 26 year old joins the likes of four time winner Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on the list, with the winner set to be announced in Zurich in January.
Finally, Oussama Assaidi scored his first goal in English football as Stoke City beat Birmingham City on penalties in the Capital One Cup fourth round last night.
The Morocco international is on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.
