Mignolet set to complete move
Simon Mignolet is expected on Merseyside today to complete his £10 million pound transfer from Sunderland.
The Belgian international is due to undergo a medical at Melwood having agreed personal terms with the Reds.
It has been reported that the 24 year old will sign a five year contract, to initially battle with current first choice goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
Liverpool will pay £9m upfront to the North East club, with a further £1m expected in add ons; the most the club have ever paid for a player in his position.
Should the deal be finalised, it will take the clubs summer spending to around £24 million, a figure which is set to rise over the coming weeks.
Spanish duo Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas recently arrived at the club, while a deal has been agreed for Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure, who is set to join up with the squad on Monday.
The club are also continuing to pursue a number of other targets, including Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori and Porto winger Christian Atsu.
Meanwhile, former youth player Tom Ince, who was thought to be close to a return to the club back in January, appears to be on the verge of joining newly promoted Cardiff City.
