No fresh injuries for Reds ahead of cup clash
Liverpool will be hoping to secure their second victory over Arsenal in consecutive weekends as the sides meet in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are unbeaten in 2014, winning seven of their nine games in all competitions, including the 5-1 thumping of the Gunners six days ago.
The Reds have no fresh injury concerns with Jose Enrique, Mohammed Sakho and Lucas all remaining side-lined though Glen Johnson may return and Daniel Agger could start after coming off the bench in stoppage time at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool lost 2-0 when they faced Arsene Wenger’s men in North London back in November, while the Gunners also emerged victorious the last time the sides met in the cup, winning 3-1 at Anfield in the third round back in 2007.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are considering a move for Ashley Cole, as the left-back looks more and more likely to call time on his Chelsea career at the end of the season, according to the Telegraph.
The 33 year old has lost his place in Jose Mourinho’s, and has also been linked with a return to Arsenal, who he left to join the Blues in controversial circumstances eight years ago.
