Reds keen on Konoplyanka
Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, Sky Sports understands.
The Reds have already began negotiations with the Ukrainian club as they look to conclude a deal for the 24 year old, who has nine goals in twenty-three appearances so far this season.
Internationally, he has been capped thirty-five times and scored eight goals, including the opener in a World Cup qualifier against England which finished 1-1 in September 2012.
However the Merseyside club could face competition from Tottenham Hotspur for Konoplyanka’s signature, according to the Mirror.
Spurs lost for the first time under Tim Sherwood last night, with Manchester City recording a 5-1 win at White Hart Lane to rise to the top of the league.
The North London club spent big in the summer, but like Liverpool are yet to spend in January.
Elsewhere, the club are battling with Arsenal to secure the services of Barcelona forward Isaac Cuenca, the Mirror understands.
The Spain U21 international, who was last seen playing on loan at Ajax where he made five appearances in a brief spell last season after missing the first half of the campaign nursing a knee injury.
