Rodgers linked with raid on former club for full-back
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a move for Swansea City defender Ben Davies, according to the Mail Online.
The 20 year old broke into the Swansea City first team last season, and has gone on to make seventy-two appearances in all competitions, scoring three times.
Rodgers knows Davies from his time in charge of the South Wales side, and is reportedly keen on bringing in the Wales international to strengthen the Reds’ back line.
The full-back, who signed a new four-and-a-half year contract with Swansea before Christmas, is also said to be interesting Manchester City, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
Elsewhere, the club have been told by Marseille that they will have to pay £10m if they want to secure the services of Mathieu Valbuena, the Express understands.
The 29 year old midfielder, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, has been told he can move on and will be allowed to leave if a reasonable offer is received.
He has been with the Ligue 1 side since the summer of 2006, scoring thirty-five goals in two hundred and eighty-nine appearances, winning the league in 2010 as well as three French League Cups and two French Super Cups.
