Rodgers may rotate for Cup clash
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may choose to rotate his squad for Sunday afternoon’s visit of Oldham Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Reds had a less than ideal Christmas period, losing back to back fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea in between home wins over Cardiff City and Hull City to leave them in fourth place in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Arsenal despite themselves being in top spot just eight days ago.
Daniel Sturridge should be fit in time to play at least some part after missing the last six weeks with an ankle injury, but Joe Allen, Jon Flanagan, Mamadou Sakho, Jose Enrique and Mamadou Sakho are all side-lined.
This is the third season in a row the club have faced Oldham in the FA Cup, having beaten them 5-1 at Anfield in the third round two years ago, and crashed out to them at Boundary Park a round later last January.
Elsewhere, Yeovil Town have completed the permanent signing of Adam Morgan, according to BBC Sport.
The 19 year old moved to Huish Park on loan in November after making just three first team appearances for Liverpool, all of which came in the Europa League last season.
