SALAH SURPRISED BY EASY WIN

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah expressed his surprise at how comfortably his team dismantled Manchester United in their 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on Sunday, admitting they could have scored “five or six” goals. The dominant win saw Liverpool continue their perfect start to the season, with goals from Luis Diaz, who scored twice in the first half, and Salah himself.

Liverpool controlled the match from start to finish, outclassing a disjointed United side that struggled to find any rhythm or style of play. Despite a bright opening five minutes, United quickly fell behind, with their midfield being overrun by Liverpool’s energy and fluidity. Salah, who has now netted 15 goals against United in his career, including 10 in his last seven appearances at Old Trafford, felt that the scoreline could have been even more one-sided.

Speaking to Roy Keane on Sky Sports, Salah said, “To be fair, I was surprised (how easy it was), because the game was open, and we knew that after the first half they were 2-0 down so would come and try to play man mark and run behind us in the whole pitch.” He added, “I agree with you, I was a little surprised. The game could have finished five or six.”

Salah also acknowledged the impact of Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, who has brought a clear style of play and demanded that senior players set the standard for the rest of the squad. “The new manager comes with his style and he wants everyone to adapt,” Salah noted, emphasizing the importance of leadership within the team.

The result leaves United with many questions to answer, while Liverpool will be buoyed by their dominant performance and the ease with which they handled one of their fiercest rivals.
