Sturridge likely to be fit in time for Swansea trip
Daniel Sturridge is set to return to the Liverpool side for Monday evening’s match at Swansea City, the Metro understands.
The 24 year old, who has enjoyed a sensational start to the season following his match winning strikes in all three of the Reds league games so far, withdrew from the England squad for their recent World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.
However, after continuing his rehabilitation on Merseyside this week, he could play some part as Brendan Rodgers takes his table topping side to his old stomping ground.
Elsewhere, Jonjo Shelvey has said that he has no regrets about leaving Liverpool, and that he most certainly was not pushed out of the club, according to the Metro.
The England midfielder secured a £6m move to Swansea City during the summer after three years on Merseyside, and whilst disappointed that things didn’t quite work out with the Reds, it was he who made the decision to move.
Finally, the club will make a move for Derby County midfielder Will Hughes when the transfer window reopens in January, the Daily Star understands.
Liverpool were linked with the England U21 international during the summer, leading Rams boss Nigel Clough to slap a £10m valuation on his star player.
