Suarez happy with Arsenal interest
Luis Suarez has been encouraged by Arsenal’s interest in him, distancing himself from claims he made stating that he would only be interested in a move away from England, the Daily Mail understands.
The 26 year old told Uruguayan radio station 890 that “there are two or three teams that are possibilities” as he considers his options ahead of the new season, with Chelsea also reportedly interested.
Suarez’s preference would be a move to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants are yet to make their interest known.
Meanwhile, Stewart Downing has told Sky Sports that he welcomes the competition for places at the club following the arrivals of Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto.
Both Spaniards will be competing for a wide berth next season, though it remains to be seen if Downing will still be with the club following West Ham United’s reported interest in the England international.
Elsewhere, the club have rejected a loan approach from Bolton Wanderers for midfielder Raheem Sterling.
However, one Reds player who has been sent to the Championship to get some more first team experience is striker Michael Ngoo, who has joined newly promoted Yeovil Town for the forthcoming season.
The 20 year old spent the second half of last season at Scottish Premier League side Hearts, scoring five goals in sixteen appearances.
