Suarez haunts Canaries once again
Luiz Suarez continued his fine form against Norwich City, netting four of Liverpool’s five goals in a stunning victory at Anfield yesterday evening.
The Uruguayan open the scoring with a stunning 40 yard lob on fifteen minutes, before adding a second just ahead of the half hour mark by sweeping in Philippe Coutinho’s corner.
He completed his hat-trick on thirty-five minutes with arguably the pick of the bunch, firing in a half volley after some fine individual skill to put the result beyond doubt with almost an hour remaining.
Suarez then hit a stunning free kick to put the Reds four up before Bradley Johnson pulled on back for the visitors, only for Raheem Sterling to restore the hosts four goal advantage late on.
Brendan Rodgers’ men remain in fourth place, seven points behind leaders Arsenal who beat Hull City at the Emirates Stadium, while there were also wins for second place Chelsea and third place Manchester City at Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
As for Suarez, he now has thirteen goals in just nine league appearances this season putting him two clear in the race for the Golden Boot, while yesterday evenings haul took him to eleven goals in just four appearances against the Canaries.
