Toure calls for calm ahead of run in
Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has called for calm as the Reds head into their final eleven games of the Premier League season, Sky Sports understands.
Brendan Rodgers’ side currently sit in fourth place, four points behind leaders Chelsea and, more crucially, six clear of fifth place Tottenham Hotspur.
They are unbeaten in their last eight league games, but they have managed to keep just two clean sheets in that run, leading to criticism of some of their defenders, with Toure in particular lambasted in some quarters for his performances.
Their next game is against a Southampton side who beat them by a goal to nil at Anfield earlier in the season and, despite sitting five places below them, have conceded five goals less.
Meanwhile, Conor Coady’s loan deal with Sheffield United has been extended until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.
The England U20 international midfielder, who celebrated his 21st birthday earlier this week, has made thirty-two appearances in all competitions for the Blades, scoring four goals – the latest of which coming in the 3-1 FA Cup fifth round win over Nottingham Forest, a result which set up a quarter final at home to Charlton Athletic.
